Nashville residents will soon have a convenient new option for their favorite Tex-Mex when Chuy’s opens its sixth Middle Tennessee location on White Bridge Road this fall. Chuy’s White Bridge is scheduled to open in early November at the site formerly occupied by O’Charley’s. “We are eager to get Chuy’s White Bridge open so we can serve the West Nashville community with our great food and drinks,” William ‘Billy’ Dale, General Manager, Chuy’s White Bridge said. “A key aspect of our culture is becoming a part of the communities we serve – from the residents to the businesses and charitable organizations in the area. The Source MVP for week two is Kyle Davidson of Grace Christian Academy. Kyle plays Wide Receiver, Quarterback, and Free Safety for GCA. Kyle led the Lions over Middle Tennessee Christian School on Friday night with a final score of 35-15. The “do it all” player for the lions had nine carries for 103 yards and four touchdowns, as well as two receptions for 34 yards. Chasity Hall lost her battle with cancer on Monday, August 29, 2022, she was 44 years old. Chasity graduated from Dickson County High School in 1996 and achieved a lot in her short life as she became a mother, earned her degree in Healthcare and worked in revenue cycle within the healthcare industry. She loved to crochet, hike to waterfalls, watch sunsets on the beach and spend quality time with her friends and family. After leading the Blue Raider baseball program for the past four seasons, MTSU Head Baseball Coach Jim Toman has resigned, reports GoBlueRaiders.com . From Metro Police August 30, 2022 - The pedestrian killed in last Thursday’s hit and run collision on McGavock Pike near Brownwood Drive is identified as Matteo Barattieri, 57. Nashville Fire Department medics came upon the victim lying on the side of the road just before 2:30 p.m. Roadway evidence suggests that the hit and run vehicle is a 2009-2022 Dodge Ram pickup truck. A witness reported seeing a white Nissan Altima leaving the area at the time the collision likely occurred. The driver/occupants of the Nissan are regarded as a potential witness(es). From Department of Justice NASHVILLE –  A Nashville man convicted of robbing a pharmacy and a bank in 2020, will spend 13 years in federal prison, announced U.S. Attorney Mark H. Wildasin for the Middle District of Tennessee. David Powell, aka Dawud Powell, 31, was sentenced Friday by U.S. District Judge William L. Campbell, Jr. Powell was initially arrested on a criminal complaint on August 25, 2020, and charged with the August 19 th  robbery of the Walgreens Pharmacy on Nolensville Pike, in which he brandished a handgun and demanded that the pharmacist give him all of the Hydrocodone, Oxycodone, and Lortab.  The pharmacist complied and the robber placed the bottles of drugs in a white bag and fled the store. The investigation by responding officers and detectives from the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department led them to the area of West Valley Drive where they observed an individual exiting a vehicle and carrying a white bag.  The individual ignored the officers’ co...

The community is hosting a homecoming parade for the Nolensville Little League Team on Wednesday, August 30th at 6 pm. The team returns home after finishing fourth in the Little League Baseball World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. This will be a golf cart parade starting at the historic school greenway (7248 Nolensville Rd), traveling along the greenway past Lanny Field, Gregory Park and then into the main Nolensville Park (2310 Nolensville Park Rd) around the baseball fields. They ask that you line up along the greenway and support each player as they pass by. At the end, there will be autographs and pictures at the main park. Brett Kern is leaving the Titans after being the starting punter since 2009. The three-time Pro Bowler has been the longest-tenured player on the roster. Kern set the franchise record for most punts in 2020. In 2019 he was named to the First-Team All-Pro list and in 2017 he was selected to the Second-Team All-Pro team. The Nashville Sounds Baseball Club announced its 2023 schedule, complete with home and away dates for the 150-game campaign. For the second consecutive season, the Sounds will begin the season at home with Opening Day at First Horizon Park slated for Friday, March 31 against the Louisville Bats (Cincinnati Reds). The Tennessee Department of Transportation will halt all lane closure activity on interstates and state highways for the Labor Day holiday travel period. Construction crews will stop all lane closure activity at noon on Friday, September 2ND, until 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 6th. This will provide maximum roadway capacity for motorists traveling during the busy Labor Day holiday. “The Labor Day holiday is typically a busy travel time,” said TDOT Commissioner Butch Eley. “We want to ensure that the thousands of travelers using Tennessee’s roadways during this period arrive at their destinations quickly and safely without being impeded by road construction delays.” While lane closure activity will be stopped, workers will still be on-site in many construction zones, and drivers are urged to obey posted speed limits. The Nolensville Little League Team has wrapped their experience at the Little League Baseball World Series (LLBWS) in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. The local team ended their journey in fourth, following a 2-0 loss to the Asia Pacific team on Sunday. Despite not getting the W against Asia Pacific, Nolensville had a fantastic season and Little League experience.
